New York City Day 1-

This morning we got a very slow start.  Jennie and Cheryl let me sleep in since we had a pretty stressful drive into the city and trying to find hotels.  We decided to stay here at the Excelsior Hotel, its expensive, but with the upgrade to the suite, we have soooo much space!   As someone that has spent many nights in NYC I know how small typical rooms are.  Its also comfortable temps, and its so much closer to everything which ultimately saves us time and well maybe a few dollars:)  We did take off one day of the trip and are adding a night in Portland which will give us some much needed down time before Boston.

Today we visited Times Square.  Jennie and Cheryl were kind of in awe I think.  I remember the first time I saw it and its fun to see it through someone else.  I didn't see the Naked Cowboy this time, I typically see him every time I am there.  I did see a naked Native American, a basically naked show girl, and Elvis!   We took Uberx to the stadium, we were there extra early for sure, but the trip took about 40 minutes so I was glad we made the decision to go early.  We got hot dogs, drinks, and visited Monument Park. Cheryl found us awesome seats.  I wish I could explain the atmosphere, the sights, the smells, the noise.  Its one of those memories you can't take a picture of.

At the end of the game we did have a bit of trouble finding a ride back to the city, but we did it and lived to tell the tale.  I have decided I watch to many crime shows my mind goes into overdrive too fast.  It was a very simple day with a huge ending.  Now it is time to sleep and get ready for a big day tomorrow.  Tomorrow we will visit attractions, and then we have our tickets to see Book of Mormon at 7pm!  YIPEE I have been so excited about seeing a Broadway show again.  It has been way too long.  I remember why I loved it so much here. Pictures are from Philly, and today.

  1. I love the ball game pictures! The warning to be alert on the back of the seats is funny : )
