The title really does not do the day justice:) Cheryl and I drove in from Roanoke VA, and arrived about 15 min before Troy, Kathy, Sophia, and Jennie made it in from Baltimore Airport. We decided to go ahead and do the night tour of D.C. and it was an adventure to figure out where we were and how to get around.
Apparently, this is gay pride weekend, so a lot of streets were blocked off for that. Then we finally figured out that I needed to drive and Cheryl needed to navigate so we switched places and were off to find parking by the Old Post Office. I do not know how we ended up at the place we did but we pulled up and I handed the guy at the gate a twenty. He handed it back to me and said I don't need this but I do need to search the car. O M G! The car is packed with all the stuff for the trip for 35 days! Then he proceeded to ask us for all of our ID's and to roll down all the windows and pop the hatch, Cheryl was worried something would fly out. Jennie was concerned that they would think we brought all that for a week! LOL Opening the back the security guy said "oh my" and then just let us go. It was quite the experience. Jennie said he was cute. I was too scared to look at him. So we figured out that we were in the Ronald Regan building , and work our way out to the street to meet up with our tour. We found the Old Post office
