We left this morning about 1030 from Jackson TN and drove to Nashville. We found the Grand Ol Opry House but the tours were full until 330pm so we skipped that, bummer for sure. We ate at the mall there and then started the rest of the drive to Roanoke VA.
We arrived about 1045...this is becoming a pattern, probably because I am not really all that good about hoping up and getting on the road in the morning. We are again at a Holiday Inn Express but this one is NOTHING like the last one. Bummer:(
The ride here was interesting. There was a beat up van in front of us for about 30 miles that was weaving all over the road and either going 45(speed limit is 70) or going about 60. I think I watched it cross the center line no less than 10 times and I can't even count how many times it almost hit a semi or other car that attempted to pass it. This is on a hilly curvy road with no place else to go, so I elected to stay back and pray that nobody would get hit by the idiot. At first I was pretty sure it was a drunk driver, but then Cheryl thought maybe he was sleeping? No idea, but we actually called the emergency line and reported it because it was that bad! I just hope nobody got hurt, we finally had a wide spot so I was able to clear him and pass.
