I am three days behind again on the blog, instead of breaking it up into days I am going to try for one long post instead.
We arrived in Boston on Monday. Monday we went to Quincy Market for lunch, and then walked down to meet up with our duck tour. Not sure why this one wasn't as fun as the last one, there was a lot of great information but it just lacked the excitement that we had in DC. I did however get my duck whistle(3)! Here are some pictures of the duck tour.
After the duck tour we had to wait for a shuttle. I found a friend.
Then we walked around and then came back to the hotel. Tuesday we walked the Freedom Trail(ok...parts of it). We saw a bunch of stuff and it is so amazing to be in the city where so many things made history!
The above picture cracks me up!
At some point(I am kind of forgetting the sequence we have done things!) We got Mike's pastry WOW yummy! Then we saw North Church, Paul Revere's home and continuing on the Freedom Trail. We also went to two old grave areas. Those pictures are on Jennie's camera because I messed up and did not put a memory card in the camera that morning.
We saw Longfellow's Washington HQ, and it was sooo neat. I do have those pictures...um maybe this isn't the day I left my camera memory card. This is a hazard of traveling beyond 3 weeks it all blends:)
We ended up at Harvard.
Today we went to Hawthorne(Old Manse). We got in on some special secret tour of that which was neat. I got to play the piano that his daughter played on! Yankee Doodle:) We tried a couple of times to get into Walden Pond but it was not an easy task, we will try again tomorrow. We also went to Louise Alcott Old Orchard House, Little Women:) We ate at the Colonial Inn which was so yummy. Then we headed back. We drove back to the hotel and attempted later today to find a spot to watch the fireworks over Boston. We found a spot outside of the hotel in the Target parking lot...lol. Hey it worked.
Tomorrow back to Concord.
